Hauteville

Description

APPEARANCE

HAUTEVILLE  is  a  sedimentary  limestone  and  its  constitution was  spread  over  the  last  150  million years.

Quarry  shows different layers and depending on the layer, the appearance of stone could vary a bit particularly in the honed/polished and flamed finish.

You could find in what is named:  HAUTEVILLE D ( or HAUTEVILLE BEIGE ). It is a beige limestone, with sometimes some microcracks and some veins. It appears also sometimes rust spots but they are totally stable and do not expand. The D type is used for honed or polished finish. It could be used also for brushed, thermal or mechanical finishes, but in that case , in the same color, is better to use B or C type which are no good for honed or polished but have same color. These B,C and D type have uni parts and flowered parts.

There is a part of the quarry which produces a D with some grain, and is called HAUTEVILLE CF or HAUTEVILLE PEARL.

Then  you have another layer, named HAUTEVILLE E , or HAUTEVILLE GOLD; It is a darker beige than HAUTEVILLE D;   it has the same aesthetic characteristics than the “D” uni.

Third type is called HAUTEVILLE F, or HAUTEVILLE BLUE.

You could find also blocks with beige and blue color , and it is thus called HAUTEVILLE BAYADERE;

HAUTEVILLE is cut with bed. It is a hard limestone.

Usual slab sizes are 180-240 cm x 130-150 cm. Quarry capacity allows to supply medium sized projects to large projects.

TECHNICAL DATA

USES

HAUTEVILLE is suitable for large projects.  Its uses are many and varied. HAUTEVILLE is a hard and frost resistant limestone.  We can use it outdoors despite the freeze; given its hardness can also be used in street (sidewalk and rolling paths) but also as residential terrace or pool floor; a flamed or a bushamered finish can make this stone anti-slip .

It can also facade veneer.

Indoor, of course, its utilization are numerous: in heavy traffic for paving in buildings receiving public, but also in building lobbies; staircases; kitchen or bathroom : worktop because of its low porosity.
